Job summary An exciting vacancy has arisen for an experienced part time Health Care Assistant (HCA)/phlebotomist to work 2 days per week (preferably Thurs and Fri), but with flexibility to cover annual leave when required. Salary: £11.59 rising to £12.19 after successful completion of probation. Main duties of the job To support the practice nursing team in the delivery of nursing services, working as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population. The healthcare assistant will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education. About us We are a very friendly rural practice with a growing list size of approx. 5300. Our team comprises three GP's, one ANP, one PN, one HCA and a very supportive patient services team. Ensure fridges are cleaned routinely in accordance with extant guidance p. Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the practice IPC policy q. Ensuring samples are sent to the laboratory in a timely manner u. Maintaining an effective liaison with the laboratory staff v. Working collaboratively with the nursing team, seeking guidance when necessary for patient related matters w. Removal of sutures and staples x. Carry out urinalysis and pregnancy testing y.
