Our Oil Terminal is a highly regulated COMAH site, which is located close to our Pre-Treatment and Biodiesel Plants at Stanlow.
This role has a shift pattern of 4 shifts on (2 days and 2 nights) followed by 6 shifts off.
Main purpose of the role:
The Terminal Operator will work as part of a shift team ensuring the effective transfer of fuel components in and out of our Oil Terminal. They will also ensure the operation of steam generation and distribution to necessary site facilities.
What you will be doing:
* Oversee the safe loading and discharge of fuel components into and out of AOT.
* Undertake control room duties including alarm management in line with COMAH requirements and updating operating logs and reports.
* Monitor and operate the Biomass facility to ensure consistent operation and environmental compliance.
* Follow the blend plan for all product movements from ships, tankers, vessels, pipelines in and out of the site, in line with procedures.
* Carry out daily sampling, inspections and shift checks to ensure safety, quality and environmental compliance.
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance on operational equipment.
Your key relationships will be:
* Ensuring that third party contractors/hauliers adhere to HSE requirements and Argent Oil Terminal site rules.
Skills and behaviours you will need to be successful:
* IT literate
* ERP experience (desirable)
* Excel skills for data input
* Fork Lift Truck (desirable)
* Confined Space (training will be given)
* First Aid (training will be given)
* Ability to follow processes and procedures, yet be proactive when problems arise
* Strong team player with a positive can-do attitude
* Good communication skills for dealing with external contractors and hauliers
* Role model for driving HSE compliance in self and others
* Demonstrates high standard of housekeeping
* Able to remain calm under pressure when workload peaks
Specific experience/qualifications required:
* Experience of fuel handling (desirable)
* Experience of fuel bulk storage (desirable)
* Experience on COMAH sites (advantageous)
* Health & safety qualification (desirable)
* NVQ in process operations (desirable)
* Good standard of Maths & English GCSE passes
