A fantastic opportunity has arisen for someone who is interested in developing their commissioning career in community-facing services. It is an exciting time to join our team as we are reviewing the impact of our preventative offer and support for unpaid carers. This role would suit someone with commissioning experience and an interest in developing preventative services.
As the Commissioning Manager for prevention and carers, you will support the development and management of services that promote meaningful preventative support to Cornwall's residents. You will have a keen eye for detail and experience in analysing a range of qualitative and quantitative data which will underpin our commissioning intentions.
You will work across the People's Commissioning Team, operational teams, social care buyers, service providers, community partners, and health services.
The Role:
The role will play an important part in developing services which enable older people to live independently for longer in Cornwall through the development of a suite of Prevention services around reablement, day services, and carers support.
Commissioning Managers are senior officers reporting to the Strategic Commissioning Leads and will manage a team of Commissioning Officers and Assistant Commissioning Officers in the delivery of complex strategic commissioning priorities and supplier relationship management.
The role holder will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of strategies, planning new policies and frameworks, and delivery of all of the strategic activities for the area of work. The role holder will ensure that services are commissioned in a way that has a focus on best practice, reflective learning, co-design, deriving good quality service provision, and cost-effectiveness.

Minimum Requirements:
1. Knowledge in a relevant professional area including data analysis, commissioning, service development, social care, or community development.
2. A proven track record of using professional expertise to develop and deliver strategic objectives and expected outcomes.
3. Experience of developing and delivering strategic plans and the identification and delivery of commissioning priorities.
4. Demonstrable evidence of using different change management methodologies to support organisational change.
5. Leadership and management skills.
