Salary: £27,885
Monday-Friday with flexibility to cover the occasional Saturdays (paid overtime)
Hours: 39 per week (10am-6pm)
Job Purpose
To drive, motivate and be the first point of contact for Team Members in the achievement of daily operational targets, set by the Management Team, with a focus on guiding and developing staff your team. To plan and expedite the effective and efficient control of the Branch transport / distribution operation with budgeted targets and operational objectives.
Objectives
* To drive the daily performance of operatives, to achieve or exceed budgeted productivity and quality targets within a transport operation in line with departmental KPIs.
* All staff are expected to understand the principles of Good Distribution Practice of Medicinal products for Human use (2013/C 68/01) which is reflected in our SOP – REF Chapter 1 AHDL GDP 1.1. It will be a requirement for all staff to be trained in this SOP and have an annual refresher. All other GDP training will be job specific and as per your personal training matrix.
* As directed by the Management Team deliver training on operational procedures and processes in accordance with company strategy including but not exclusively Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and Transport Standard Operating Practice (SOP’s) with particular focus on housekeeping.
* In conjunction with and supported by the Management Team actively endorse, promote and manage our IIP culture and status through team briefing, training, and if applicable 121’s and return to works for first and second occasions of absence.
* Support the Driver Team Manager in achieving departmental and company objectives.
* Carry out any reasonable request as determined by the Service Centre Management Team promoting and supporting company initiatives.
* Monitor driver performance, provide training and support, and address any issues or concerns that arise.
* Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
Key Accountabilities
Financial control and profitability
* Ensuring transport failures are reported with corrective action being monitored.
* Ensuring any damaged or missing orders are recorded and investigated; and aid in any necessary corrective actions taken.
Operating standards
* Ensuring all customer deliveries are affected in the prescribed manner.
* Ensure company procedure/standards are adopted and monitored with regard to transportation of products.
* Ensuring vehicle security disciplines are maintained.
* Ensure all paperwork is kept up to date (Well, OTC, and 3rd Party).
* Ensuring standards are maintained with regard to vehicle and driver presentation.
* Ensuring monitoring standards are maintained with regard to order control, driver records, customer service-related incidents.
* Maintaining a good standard of housekeeping.
* Overall knowledge of operation required, to facilitate adequate cover during absence and holidays.
* Meeting all Health & Safety requirements.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a transportation or logistics role preferably within a team leader role.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage team members.
* Knowledge of transportation regulations, route planning, and vehicle maintenance practices.
* Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities to handle complex logistics challenges.
* Valid Drivers License.
