Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our excellent dynamic out-patient Physiotherapy teams. The candidate will work as part of a dynamic MSK physiotherapist, responsible for the delivery of advanced assessment, management and treatment of patients. We see patients from all settings including trauma & orthopaedics, GP and self-referral patients. We provide services including but limited to; FCP, ultrasound scanning, Injection therapy, Hydrotherapy, Gym rehabilitation, Shockwave therapy, Acupuncture They candidate will hold responsibility for own case load, clinical duties and be responsible for a defined area of the service, working without direct supervision and maintain associated records. The post holder will assist with supervision, education and assessment of the junior staff but also performance of physiotherapy students. Regular In-service training and band specific training will be provided for development of the successful candidate. Main duties of the job To provide a high standard physiotherapy service to MSK out-patients within University Hospitals with site specified as Good Hope Hospital. Incorporating weekend work 8-12am once every 6 weeks with time given back. To hold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for a defined area of the service, working without direct supervision. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, case conferences. Access to advice and support from senior physiotherapists is available if required, clinical work is not routinely evaluated. To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner and maintain associated records. To assist with supervision, education and assessment of the performance of physiotherapy students; to a graduate standard and involve working with universities to ensure the standard of practice and teaching meets the standards set by the degree level qualification. To assist with supervision, education and co-ordination of therapy assistants, and junior therapy staff. Undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and teams clinical practice. Make recommendations to clinical lead/manager of service for changes to practice by the team. May lead the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service protocols.
