Veritas are currently seeking dedicated and resilient Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistants to work in SEN and Secondary schools in Kent. We are looking for candidates who will be a positive influence & role model for children and young students. The position will be full-time, term time only, beginning ASAP.
The role will involve supporting students at all levels in a classroom setting. You will ideally have some sort of experience in working with children and young people, perhaps you may have an interest in teaching in the future. Experience or knowledge in working with students with learning difficulties would be beneficial. You will be empathetic, resilient, and confident with behaviour management.
Responsibilities for Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant include:
1. Working proactively to help students achieve their attainment levels
2. Encouraging students to engage proactively with their learning
3. Helping to provide a safe environment for children to learn
4. Assisting the teacher in areas including behaviour management, consistently promoting positive behaviour, and in assisting with their general learning and development
Key skills and experience needed:
1. Psychology (or related subject) graduate
2. Strong behaviour management
3. Enthusiastic
4. Resilient and patient
5. Desirable: experience working with children or young adults with learning difficulties
