Main Duties of the Job
1. Assist parents/carers to develop their skills and build confidence prior to and following discharge.
2. Monitor vital signs.
3. Caring for babies receiving Oxygen and participate in Oxygen studies.
4. Participate in the care of babies requiring phototherapy.
5. Identify child protection concerns and take appropriate action.
6. Maintain legible, accurate and contemporaneous records in accordance with the Trust Policy.
7. Be responsible for own professional development.

Qualifications and Further Training
* NNEB Diploma.
* NVQ level 3 in Early Year, Care and Education.
* Foundation degree in Health and Social Care.
* 1 year's experience working with newborn infants.
Experience
* Relevant work experience with babies and families.
* Experience of working within a team.
* 1 year experience caring for babies.
* Working in an acute hospital setting.
Knowledge
* NHS Constitution.
* Awareness of relevant health promotion topic areas.
* Infant feeding methods.
* Baby Friendly Initiative.

Salary
£27,857 to £30,570 a year, pro rata of 34.5 hours per week.
