Their iGaming platform is central to their strategy, supporting over 25 online brands and growing, and it's used by hundreds of thousands of users worldwide.
Our client embraces a Hybrid work-from-home model, with the flexibility of working three days in the office and two days from home.
About the Data - Engineering Manager role:
As an Engineering Manager, your primary responsibilities will be geared towards building and leading high-performing engineering teams. You will work closely with your product and design counterparts on the planning and scoping of the product development roadmap, where you will be accountable for the engineering teams’ delivery and ensuring that the processes are well designed and followed. You will ensure that team and product performance are measurable, and the overall quality is the best. Additionally, you will take ownership and responsibility for the technical stability and performance of the products developed by your team, ensuring additional and incremental value is delivered to the stakeholders at every iteration.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Build and lead high-performing engineering teams.
2. Ensure the engineering teams are properly structured, staffed, and possess the right roles and skills.
3. Drive excellence in engineer recruitment, onboarding, and career development.
4. Foster an engineering culture of ownership, collaboration, and passion for delivering quality products.
5. Be an active part of the cross-functional leadership team for the area.
6. Collaborate with other engineering leaders across the organization to share best practices.
7. Accountable for the engineering teams’ delivery in terms of both time and quality.
8. Work closely with your product counterpart(s) and provide a high level of support for product activities.
9. Define team performance metrics to monitor and report on team productivity.
10. Drive the continuous optimization and improvement of team and development processes.
11. Take ownership for measuring team performance, resolving any situations that can impact it.
12. Advocate and advance modern agile software development practices.
13. Step into any missing role as and when may be required.
14. Through collaboration with your architecture and product counterparts, ensure the engineering teams are aware of any strategies, standards, and business goals they are expected to follow.
15. Drive ownership and awareness of system health, performance, and stability.
16. Champion technical initiatives for consideration in the product development roadmap.
17. Ensure highly effective support and maintenance processes are in place.
18. Ensure SLAs are being actively monitored and followed.
What we’re looking for?
* Experience in working with Data and AI Engineering teams, products, and solutions.
* Knowledge about Cloud Data Architectures & AI Technology.
* Experience with developing Data Products.
* Experience with leading agile teams using Kanban / Scrum.
