Job information Post No. POSN002239 - Inclusion Support Officer The Education Department are seeking to appoint an Inclusion Support Officer to join the existing Inclusion Team. The ALN Team manage a caseload of 1000 pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN). This is a Statutory, public-facing team that caters for the educational needs of the City’s most vulnerable pupils and resolves a range of complex issues daily, alongside Local Authority (LA), School-based staff, and wider stakeholders. This includes pupil-specific queries, exclusions, existing and new school placements, delivering training, provision mapping, and development. The ALN Team is extremely busy and pressurized, with a statutory responsibility to individual pupils, their families, and Schools. The work undertaken is of high risk to the Council. The successful candidate will have experience working within a pressurized environment, preferably within a Local Authority context. The post-holder will ensure robust co-ordination of the Individual Development Plan (IDP) process in line with the ALN Code of Practice and prescribed timeframes, contributing to the team’s Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). The post-holder will be responsible for amending legal documents, providing administrative support to all officers, and taking minutes at various Panel meetings. The post-holder will liaise with Parents and Schools directly, both verbally and in writing, providing advice regarding general ALN queries. The successful applicant will also manage the team's central email account, sign-posting queries to designated officers and updating/indexing pupil records within both the ONE and Electronic Data Management Systems. This also includes processing and collating exclusion summaries and updates on Looked After Children (LAC) to the LA, among others. The successful applicant will receive direct line management from the ALN Inclusion Officers and ALN Manager.
