Assistant Technical Manager // Sittingbourne // Up to £35,000 per annum // Permanent We are currently seeking a dedicated Assistant Technical Manager to join a well-established food manufacturing business based in Sittingbourne. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to take the next step in their career, supporting technical operations and ensuring high standards of food safety and quality.As the Assistant Technical Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving food safety, quality systems, and compliance with customer and third-party audit standards. You will deputise for the Technical Manager, lead risk assessments, support audits, and ensure policies and procedures align with food legislation. Key Responsibilities: Act as a deputy for the Technical Manager, stepping in when required. Support and enhance food safety and quality management systems. Conduct gap analyses against customer standards and internal processes. Assist in compliance with BRCGS Food Safety and retailer standards. Lead risk assessments and ensure up-to-date documentation. Participate in and support third-party audits. Conduct internal audits and address non-conformances. Lead crisis management in the absence of the Technical Manager. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the business. What We’re Looking For: A degree in a food-related subject. Minimum 3 years' experience in the food manufacturing industry. Experience with BRCGS and multiple retailer standards. Strong knowledge of food safety, food defence, and quality assurance. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. High attention to detail and strong organisational skills. The Offer: Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per year (dependent on experience). Location: Sittingbourne. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM during onboarding). Full-time, permanent position.
