NeuroSupport services are currently recruiting Support Workers and Healthcare Assistants with a background in Brain Injury and Mental Health experience to support service users with an acquired Brain Injury. Our service aims to support rehabilitation and enable people to optimize independence and quality of life.
We are looking for psychology graduates, support Workers, and Healthcare Assistants or suitable candidates who would be willing to support people both within their home environment and also provide support in helping service users access the community. We seek candidates that are confident in working independently and providing empirical feedback where necessary.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours:
1. Tuesday: 09:30 am - 22:30 pm (Day)
2. Friday: 22:30 pm - 09:30 am (Waking Night)
3. Saturday: 22:30 pm - 09:30 am (Waking Night)
4. Every other Sunday (twice monthly): 09:30 am - 22:30 pm
There are then additional shifts to help out when other team members are on holiday or unavailable.
Responsibilities:
1. Prompting with personal care
2. Medication management
3. Preparing meals
4. Completing planned activities including shopping and taking to social activities
5. Completing therapy programmes
6. Light cleaning
7. Giving feedback and challenge
8. Managing dietary intake
Successful Candidates will:
1. Have access to full training, including Brain Injury Awareness Training
2. CPD opportunities
3. Be subject to Full Enhanced DBS

Preferences:
This role is open to Male and Female applicants. Candidates MUST speak clear English due to the clients' disabilities and MUST have brain injury experience. Ideally, candidates should have experience working with clients with brain injury, particularly those with cognitive impairment and behaviors that may challenge. Candidates must be engaging and spirited with good communication skills. This position would suit those with a therapy background and/or psychology background.
