Job Title: Onsite Prescriber Location: Chemist4U Head Office (C4U Skelmersdale) Department: ADHD 360 Reports To: Team Manager Salary: £50,000 PAYE Hours: 40 Hours per week Monday to Friday 9.00 5.00 with flexibility Job Summary: The Onsite Prescriber represents an extension of the ADHD 360 clinical team, based at the partner pharmacy Chemist4U.The role ensures clinical governance, facilitates timely corrections, resolves prescription queries, and supports patient satisfaction by ensuring all prescriptions meet legal and clinical requirements in a timely manner. Role Purpose: The role contributes directly to the efficiency of ADHD 360s service delivery and patient experience. By resolving issues such as rejected prescriptions, clinical queries, or delivery errors on the day, the Onsite Prescriber ensures a seamless process from clinician consultation to the patient receiving their prescription. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prescription Management Monitor and maintain the "Rejected Prescriptions" section on the ADHD 360 system, ensuring timely resolution. Rewrite and correct prescriptions where appropriate to meet legal and clinical requirements. Investigate and resolve prescriptions marked as "not on C4U system" before they reach QA; complete QA if necessary. Clinical Query Resolution Act as a point of contact to liaise with C4U Clinical Pharmacists for prescription-related clinical queries and confirm prescriber intentions. Collaborate with ADHD 360 Prescribers to address unclear treatment plans or queries regarding scripts. Patient and System Support Review prescriptions marked for local pharmacies, investigate and process/correct any discrepancies, such as missing pink slips. Address patient-specific queries, including split scripts, delivery address confirmation, and exemption status. Investigate system-related errors (e.g., patient information, phone numbers or addresses). Urgent Requests and Safeguarding Approve urgent prescription rewrites, such as lost shipments requiring expedited solutions. Act as a safeguarding point of contact to manage high-risk concerns reported by patients to C4U. Coordination with Teams Liaise between C4U and ADHD 360 teams (QA, Secretaries, Prescribers) to ensure prescription accuracy, resolve issues, and fulfil specific patient requests. Facilitate communication and ensure clarity between all involved departments for smooth prescription processing. How performance will be measured Timely completion of the "Rejected Prescriptions" tab daily. All prescription rewrites actioned and completed within the same day. Resolution of clinical queries, not on C4U system prescriptions, and missing pink slips promptly and efficiently. Positive contribution to maximising patient satisfaction and service delivery by providing timely solutions. Qualifications and Experience: Essential Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or relevant healthcare professional body. V300 Independent Prescribing Qualification (or equivalent). Proven experience in clinical prescribing, ideally within mental health, ADHD, or related healthcare settings. Strong understanding of clinical governance, legal prescription requirements, and safeguarding protocols. Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to resolve clinical queries and deliver patient-focused care. Proficient in using clinical systems and digital platforms for patient management. Desirable Experience in ADHD, mental health services, or Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). Previous experience liaising with pharmacies or prescription processing teams. Familiarity with ADHD 360 systems and processes or similar platforms. Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately identify and resolve errors in prescriptions or patient information while ensuring thorough documentation. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively between multidisciplinary teams, pharmacists, and prescribers. Problem-Solving: Proactively identifies issues (e.g., rejected prescriptions, system bugs, or delivery errors) and implements timely, effective solutions. Patient-Focused: Commitment to improving patient satisfaction by facilitating smooth and efficient prescription processing. Team Collaboration: Works effectively across teams, maintaining clear communication and coordination between ADHD 360 and Chemist4U. Organisational Skills: Manages workload efficiently, ensuring tasks such as daily monitoring, re-writes, and query resolution are completed promptly. Adaptability: Demonstrates flexibility in handling urgent requests, safeguarding concerns, or system/process changes.
