The Bid Manager will manage the end-to-end proposal process across our business units. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders across the business. The Bid Manager will play a critical role in acquiring new business by managing concurrent proposals from the agenda setting kick-off meeting to submission. We are seeking someone with success bidding within the public sector and commercial environments to join our growing team in this key role which ensures quality standards, efficiency, and excellence throughout the bid process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leading all aspects of the planning and executing the overall bid cycle/governance plan throughout the lifecycle including RFIs, PQQs and main bid responses ITT/ ITN/ RFP/ RFQs, applying corporate assurance and business winning best practices (e.g. Shipley).
2. Generating and gaining approval for implementing a realistic bid plan and bid schedule (including resources, responsibilities, and task allocation), tracking and managing them, and taking action where they deviate from the agreed budget or agreed task.
3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Commercial, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Technical teams, to gather proposal inputs and ensure quality content.
4. Review RFPs to identify and mitigate risks, compliance issues, and mandatory requirements.
5. Develop, write, and edit high-quality bid content that meets client requirements and showcases the company's strengths.
6. Support post-bid activities, including bid debriefs and lessons learned.
7. Conduct market and opportunity analysis to identify key pitch points and develop winning strategies.
8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, client needs, and competitor strengths in the security risk management and intelligence sector.
9. Continuously improve bid cycle/governance/processes, and update bid templates/content library.
10. Framework monitoring and opportunity identification responsibilities shared with the Sales Coordinator.
Minimum Requirements:
1. At least 5 years of experience in bid management, with a proven track record of winning complex bids in the public and commercial sectors.
2. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
3. Familiarity with government procurement processes.
4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to craft compelling and compliant proposals.
5. Strong analytical and research skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., APMP) is preferred.
8. Ideally experience in the security risk management and intelligence industry.
9. Familiarity with Tableau, InDesign, and graphic design skills would be advantageous.
