About this opportunity
The Disabled Adaptation delivery team within Adult Social Care and Housing are looking to recruit to a full time post who will work across Cumberland, but will be based in Carlisle initially to support delivery. The role will require the successful applicant to support the delivery of the disabled adaptations to residents within Cumberland by providing a service to support customers through the grant application and adaptation process, providing professional technical advice, case work and technical support to the service and customer.
The role will involve visiting properties both with and without an Occupational Therapist to advise and support an applicant on the technical delivery of their adaptation, this requires knowledge on a wide range of adaptations. The candidate should ideally have experience of property surveys, sound knowledge of contract law, Building and Planning Regulation but this is not essential and full training can be provided.

The post will be based in the Carlisle team initially but maybe expected to work flexibly across the whole district area of Cumberland, the base will be fixed and travel would be expected to other locality areas depending on the needs of the job. The scope or the area covered may change during the term of the role as restructuring takes place of the service across Cumberland.

DBS
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with a Adults Barred List check.
