Email Platform Manager
Location: 1 Braham Street, London, United Kingdom
Company: BT Group
We have made the shift from shorter-lived Project teams to long-running Product teams that work in agile ways to rapidly deliver business value. We structure our delivery activities around products and business outcomes (in this case our Consumer VAS Products and Services), and we refer to these virtual teams as a ‘Tribe’. The Tribe is accountable for delivering the capabilities that underpin BT’s Email products, including delivery of new client and app versions, and new features that make these products the best email products in the marketplace.
In this role you’ll act as a servant-leader with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams. You will be confident and resilient and thrive in a high-paced environment, ensuring the delivery aligns with the needs of the business, with a focus on quality, cost, and operational robustness to ensure all products are 99.99% available to our customer base.
What you’ll be doing
1. Strategic Leadership: Own the overall technology strategy for BT Email Service, ensuring the adoption of optimal solutions (both external and internal) at the right price to deliver an exceptional email service to our customers.
2. Security Excellence: Guarantee the robustness of the email service by deploying best-in-class solutions to protect customer accounts and data from phishing, spam, credential washing, and other security threats.
3. Service & User Access Management: Oversee the management of email services, including ordering, adding, changing, and removing services. Ensure robust and secure email user authentication processes.
4. Proactive Monitoring: Responsible for the choice of tools such as Synthmon, Splunk, auto callout/Netcool, and supplier capabilities to enhance proactive and reactive monitoring, increasing automation and reducing manual efforts.
5. Client Performance: Monitor and optimize the performance and usability of email clients (both web and mobile) to ensure a seamless user experience.
6. Collaboration with BT Consumer Leads: Work closely with BT Consumer leads to shape and deliver the future direction of the BT Email Service. Lead the development of business cases for changes in technology solutions used in the BT Email Service.
7. Transformation Champion: Actively contribute to squad and tribe transformation, fostering a culture of continuous learning, empowerment, and psychological safety. Participate in Big Room Planning and regular Scrum of Scrums to align dependencies and deliver incremental value from development to live.
8. Collaborative Partner: Build internal and external relationships, collaborating with both operational and technical teams to deliver business results.
9. Be Tech Savvy: Develop and contribute to knowledge of new technologies and how they're used in BT and other organizations.
10. Solution Focused Achiever: Identify and implement plans to overcome obstacles and achieve ambitious goals.
11. Change Agent: Support change initiatives, adapting quickly and delivering change effectively.
