In addition to 6 Elekta linear accelerators, the Sutton dept has an Elekta MR linear accelerator, Cyberknife unit, Gulmay superficial unit and a Radixact unit, with a second Radixact unit is being installed this year. The department has a Siemens Confidence CT scanner and utilises multi- modality imaging for planning. The successful candidate will be given the training and support to be confident delivering advanced radiotherapy techniques such as IMRT, VMAT, VIBH, IGRT, SABR and Adaptive, along with the opportunity to rotate into Pre-treatment to develop advanced competencies in CT, Mould room and Virtual Simulation. Main duties of the job The post-holder will be responsible for carrying out radiotherapy processes as prescribed, carefully and accurately and assisting in the operational management of a specialist highly complex radiotherapy work base, which may be a treatment unit, a brachytherapy unit, a CT scanner, VS area or a treatment preparation area, and supervising the immediate radiographic team in the absence of a team leader. The post-holder will liaise with medical, physics, nursing, clerical and support staff within the department and throughout the institution.
