The role encompasses responsibility for clinical delivery of vaccination and patient safety, specialist advice on immunisation issues and the opportunity to develop skills in both independent and team working. The successful applicant will work in schools, clinics and family homes with children, young people and babies to deliver vaccinations in a safe and professional way. Engagement with hard to reach groups such as travellers and children who are looked after is another aspect of the team's remit and the band 6 responsibilities will include supporting this work in the community. Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure is essential. We welcome applicants who can demonstrate a willingness to work flexibly and co-operatively with colleagues both within their own team and the wider multidisciplinary teams across the whole SCFT area. You will need to be motivated, conscientious and committed to supporting us to maintain high vaccination coverage across Sussex. The immunisation service is 'paper light', meaning that we use virtual paperwork as much as possible. IT skills and experience of using computer software, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint are required. Experience of using an online e-consent platform and patient record systems, such as SystmOne would be beneficial, although full training will be provided. The role requires working core hours of 8am 4pm with flexibility at either end of the day for packing of vaccines and clinic cover, on a rota basis within the team. All team members support the whole of the SCFT Immunisation Service therefore you must be a car owner/driver and be willing to travel to clinics and schools within Sussex.
