The post holder will play a key role in monitoring standards in the delivery and quality of midwifery care. They are responsible for the implementation of the Trust Nursing and Midwifery strategy in the clinical area to support delivery of the corporate nursing and midwifery agenda.
The post holder will havecontinuing responsibility for the management and development of the specialist area, with the following criteria:
· Assesses, develops, implements and evaluates programmes of care
· Monitors and ensures maintenance of standards of care
· Monitors and ensure high quality of care for women / birthing people and their family
· Expert clinical practitioner within own sphere clinical area
· Formulates and implement policies within own sphere
· Participates in directorate, corporate and external groups including risk management
· Supervises, deploys and develops staff
· Participates in research and audit
· Proactive in resource and financial management
