Client S is a female with a young school-aged child. We are looking for someone to support from 11am on a Tuesday and 10am on a Thursday for 5-6 hours per day.
Primarily, the role will be to support with activities. Currently, S enjoys horse riding, singing lessons, photography, pilates, and cycling, so candidates will need to be able to assist/accompany with these activities. S will also need assistance to access therapy, OT, and physio. There is a need for support with admin tasks, sorting emails, arranging appointments, and planning. There may be some need for assistance with S's young son, who can display challenging behaviour and may need lifts to/from school/activities.
S has input from a brain injury case manager, neuro OT, and neuropsychologist who will provide a level of ongoing supervision and support to the rehab worker.
We require a female support worker (lawful exemptions apply) with some brain injury experience, good life skills, and organizational skills, along with an empathetic approach to support work. Candidates should possess excellent communication and motivational skills while remaining sensitive to the client's needs. A solid knowledge of professional boundaries is required as this is an issue with S.
This is an opportunity to work closely alongside brain injury professionals for someone looking for part-time work or as a second employment.
You must be a car owner/driver as S finds public transport/taxis stressful.
You will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS, provide checkable references, and proof of eligibility to work in the UK. Please let us know if you hold a portable DBS.
