We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Lead to join the Civil Engineering Design Management Team (DMT) within the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that HPC Design Entities deliver to quality, cost, schedule, a coherent, safe and compliant design fit for procurement, construction, commissioning and operation.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
1. Supporting the contract team to validate their scope, developing Early Warnings on scope and Project Work Requests with aid from the contract team, under Contract Management.
2. Overseeing the L2 Engineering schedule and ensuring that L3 aligns, updating Engineering Project Controls with the correct NNB input data, as part of Schedule Management.
3. Supporting the Engineering Delivery Manager and Engineering Project Controls team to agree EPRE annual contract budgets and how to tackle costs, providing Programme Directors with NNB Contract and Designer information, as part of Cost Control.
4. Supporting the management of Engineering risks (Project and Technical) and Engineering organisations to identify, progress and prioritise risks and opportunities accordingly, raising change papers on behalf of the Programme Team or the Engineering Team, under Management of Risks, Opportunities, Trends and Changes.
5. Developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders ensuring that their expectations are met, as part of Stakeholder Relationships.
6. Being involved in Design Change preparation (CMB) and technical decision committee preparation (TDC) and supporting the CMB and TDC topics related to their scope, as part of Technical Design Vision.
7. Coordinating with the respective Plant Integration Configuration Engineer to ensure RC2 and post-RC2 (design open points, design changes, referential changes), under Configuration and Change Management.
