Trustee Home-based (with occasional travel to London) About Us Sported is a leading charity supporting the UK's largest network of sport and physical activity groups and we exist to provide the skills, resources and funding needed for them to become sustainable and deliver services to the young people and communities they serve. It has never been a harder time to be a young person growing up in the UK. Poverty, crime and mental health issues coupled with youth unemployment and COVID-19, have compounded already disadvantaged communities and individuals and widened inequalities. We support the thousands of community sports groups that seek to remove barriers from young people’s lives to allow them to thrive against the odds. We’re now looking for a Trustee to join our team on a part-time basis, attending our quarterly meetings for at least one term of three years. The Role As a Trustee, you will take on a voluntary position as part of our Board, providing governance to our charity and ensuring we are delivering against our mission. Attending quarterly meetings to help us achieve our goals, you will act as a member of our Board to drive us forward with new development strategies. Ensuring compliance, you will focus on the pursuit of charitable objectives and evaluate our performance against our targets, ensuring our financial stability and safeguarding our great name You will also manage our property, protect our investment funds and support the Chair and NomC with appointment and appraisals as necessary.
