A growth production business based in Lincolnshire is currently seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join the team due to continued growth.
Your new role
As the Management Accountant, you will oversee the financial operations and management of the business. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in analysing financial information, preparing reports, and guiding senior management on financial decisions.
Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, cashflow, and variance analysis.
2. Continuous monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Gross Profit, Net Profit, Operating Profit, Budget Variances, Wastage, Yield, Stock Control, and Cashflow.
3. Implement, monitor, and evaluate financial information systems.
4. Review and analyse production information to determine profitability.
5. Support business decisions with financial implications.
6. Analyse financial performance to contribute to business planning and forecasts.
7. Cost accounting with maintenance of production order handling and inventory systems.
8. Assist in budgeting/forecasting and variance reporting.
9. Credit control management.
10. Review and authorise monthly payment runs.
11. Assist with the management of cash flow and accounting transactions, including bank account reconciliation.
12. Maintain and review financial ledgers.
13. Complete compliance returns to HMRC, including adherence to Excise Notice 196.
14. Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations.
15. Direct involvement in inventory management, investigating discrepancies, and implementing new controls where applicable.
What you'll need to succeed:
1. Experience is key, so you will either be Qualified, Part Qualified or QBE.
2. Experience within a manufacturing or production business would be highly advantageous.
3. Experience of preparing monthly management accounts.
4. Experience in cost accounting.
5. Proficiency in using and maintaining accounting software (Sage200).
6. Experienced in Financial Analysis.
7. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
8. High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
9. Excellent presentation and report writing skills.
10. The ability to manage operations and adapt processes within time and budgets.
