About the Role:
Lambeth Council are seeking an occupational therapist to work in Technology Enabled Care. We have an exciting new post for an occupational therapist to develop our service and carry out assessments for complex assistive technology. This is an opportunity to develop new knowledge and skills in an exciting area that helps keep vulnerable people in the community. You will need to understand how technology can be used to promote independence, minimise risk and support carers and understand the factors on whether it is used effectively or not. Initially you will be linked to another OT for peer support and you will be supported by an experienced OT manager. Opportunities to develop your Professional Development Portfolio are available, and the attendance of training courses & skill sharing within the team are encouraged. We have introduced new innovative ways of working, and there are opportunities to work your hours flexibly from home and in the office. Your responsibilities will include: • Carry out technology specific assessments in a service user’s home. • Provide recommendations for a variety of technology solutions and support service users and carers in its use • Liaising closely with the colleagues across health, housing and social care and provide training and support to Assessors across the borough • Work closely with Lambeth’s monitoring and response service (Careline) and their system platform
