Requirements of the Social Worker:
* Degree or equivalent in social work
* Current Social Work England registration
* Significant frontline experience in Adults Services
Main Duties:
* Manage a caseload as allocated
* Undertake assessments under the Care Act and other legislation, using a strength-based approach
* Co-ordinate and monitor care packages and support plans, undertaking reviews to ascertain whether the desired outcomes are being achieved
* Work with individuals to assess risk and make decisions related to their ability to function in their community
* Lead Safeguarding Adults investigations using local multi-agency policy and procedure (Level 2 Social Workers only)
* Promote safeguarding awareness with service users and multi-disciplinary colleagues
* Take a lead in complex cases involving safeguarding issues and complex family dynamics (Under supervision for Level 1 Social Workers)
* Provide written reports for court proceedings and case conferences
* Work with highly complex risk situations, especially where there are capacity/best interest issues (under supervision for Level 1 Social Workers)
* Engage in inter-disciplinary relationships and encourage integrated ways of working
* Operate in accordance with NCC and departmental practice and guidance
* Provide practice guidance to unqualified or less experienced staff under supervision (Level 2 Social Workers only)
* Supervise competency-based staff and/or students when appropriate (Level 2 Social Workers only)
* Ensure service delivery meets the ethnic, religious, cultural and linguistic backgrounds of service users
* Maintain awareness of departmental and other resources to advocate for service users
* Encourage development of resources and partnerships to benefit service users
