Salary: £35,745 - £38,223 - enhancements are paid for unsocial hours and sleeping in duties. Time and a half is paid for weekend working (if applicable).
This is a 5 bed residential service for children and young people with Mild Learning Disabilities and some associated Mental Health issues.
As a Deputy Manager in our children's residential service, you'll thrive on ensuring that each young person in your care feels heard and is fully supported to achieve their potential, whatever challenges they face.
Minimum Requirements
You must have:
1. Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care and Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete Level 5 within 2 years).
2. At least 2 years' experience relevant to residential care in the last 5 years.
3. Extensive knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and associated quality standards.
4. Understanding of care planning and case management, with the ability to liaise constructively with professionals and families and manage challenging situations.
5. Ability to lead a team, supervise and motivate colleagues.
Knowledge Required
1. In-depth knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and associated quality standards.
2. Good knowledge and experience of law and practice relating to looked after children.
3. In-depth knowledge of child and adolescent growth and development.
4. In-depth knowledge of child protection procedures and the impact of abuse and neglect.
5. Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
6. In-depth knowledge of equal opportunities policies and managing diversity.
Experience Required
1. At least 2 years' experience relevant to residential care in the last 5 years.
2. Care planning, risk management and case management.
3. Leading a team, providing supervision, motivation and direction for staff.
4. Managing difficult, demanding and challenging children and young people.
5. Convening, chairing and contributing to meetings and reviews.
6. Working with budgets and financial management.
