My client is looking for a well-experienced Product Engineering Project Manager with end-to-end experience from design to distribution, based locally in Yateley. The candidate must be able to be in the office as project demands, sometimes up to 5 days a week. Relocation is not an option. Salary is up to £65k based on experience. Prince 2 is preferred.
Responsibilities:
1. Deliver custom development projects on time, on budget, and to specification, ensuring projects are properly planned, resourced, and executed in line with internal processes.
2. Assist with proposals and project justification by gathering and reviewing preliminary information for development from various internal and external stakeholders such as customers, GBMs, and Engineers.
3. Create and implement a Project Management Plan identifying project scope, tasks, milestones, deliverables, budget, stakeholders, risks, and any other key information needed to deliver the project successfully.
4. Construct and maintain a project schedule using an appropriate WBS, with milestones and review points clearly identified. Ensure all tasks are completed and track project progress against the baseline.
5. Monitor costs against the agreed budget, calculating CTC and raising any deviations with management in a timely manner. Regularly report spend and other KPIs in line with company processes.
6. Ensure that comprehensive project requirements are produced, reviewed, and confirmed by stakeholders, using expert resources across the company where appropriate.
7. Manage project-related risks by identifying, documenting, assessing, and mitigating them where possible, raising them to senior management where appropriate.
8. Lead and participate in internal and external gateway reviews, ensuring that all actions are recorded and completed in a timely manner.
9. Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with internal and external customer standards and procedures.
10. Ensure customer-specific project documentation is delivered, including manuals, manufacturing record books, interface specifications, handling/storage procedures, and test & inspection plans.
11. Deliver timely and thorough targeted communication to all those with a direct and indirect interest, including internal and external stakeholders.
12. Undertake project closeout reviews to gather lessons learned that can be fed back into improvements in processes and procedures.
Essential:
1. Proven project management expertise within an engineering environment.
2. Proven ability to deliver results through others within a matrix organization.
3. Proven experience of liaising directly with customers and delivering the highest possible levels of customer service.
4. Excellent planning and organizational skills including work scheduling, prioritizing, and multi-tasking.
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
6. Adaptable and flexible approach to work.
7. Problem-solving & fault finding.
8. Educated to degree level BSc/BEng or equivalent in Engineering or similar discipline.
9. APM PMQ, PRINCE 2, or similar project management certification.
