Job Summary
Hours of work: 25-30 hours per week (between 0800-1900) Monday-Friday - flexibility will be required for this role.
As the first point of contact for our patients on the telephone, our Medical Receptionists assist patients in receiving the right care from the most appropriate clinician. This position involves a range of administrative tasks that require attention to detail and the ability to work accurately using initiative once trained.
Training will be provided as part of an ongoing personal development program. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can adapt to change and learn new skills with support from the management team.

Job Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the practice administration team may include any or all of the following:
* Opening and locking up practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols.
* Being aware of and remaining abreast of practice policies and protocols.
* Knowing where to find phone numbers, policies, and contacts.
* Computer data entry, data collection, and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures.
* Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team members, and associated healthcare agencies and providers.
* Clearing and restocking consulting rooms as required.
* Providing clerical assistance to the practice and CCG staff as required, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying, and scanning.
* Providing refreshments for staff and visitors as required; loading and emptying the dishwasher, keeping the kitchen area tidy, and collecting cups from upstairs.
* Keeping the reception area tidy and free from obstructions and clutter.
* Charging patients the appropriate amount for private work, providing a receipt, and recording the charge in the receipt book.
* Receiving, checking, and signing for deliveries.
* Maintaining a record of daily lab tests, both outgoing and incoming, in a manner suited to the needs of the practice.
* Filing of notes.
* Prescription processing, including EPS.
* Processing face-to-face and telephone requests for appointments, visits, and consultations, ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional.
* Taking messages and passing on information.

Minimum Requirements
Ideally, you will have experience working in a GP Practice, and knowledge of EMIS Web Clinical System and DOCMAN would be beneficial.
