We’re looking for passionate senior electrical engineers to design electric power systems for various facilities. You’ll create power distribution diagrams, specify electrical equipment, and design lighting systems. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, 6+ years of experience, and strong communication skills. Experience includes industrial power systems and distributed energy resources.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop electric power system designs for a variety of projects including water and wastewater facilities, renewable energy facilities, and industrial and commercial facilities.
2. Develop power distribution 1-line and three-line diagrams; specify, size, and arrange electrical distribution equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, motor control centers, grounding components, cables, conduits, and raceway systems.
3. Develop lighting and lighting control designs.
4. Prepare detailed technical documentation, including drawings, details, schedules, equipment specifications, and reports, related to power distribution systems.
5. Apply knowledge of commonly used electrical concepts, codes, standards, practices, and procedures within the consulting engineering industry.
6. Perform field surveys of existing facilities and systems.
7. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure project requirements are met.
8. Perform testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical and control systems.
9. Provide technical support to clients and team members as needed.
10. Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
1. A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology, or related degree, from an ABET accredited program.
2. Minimum six years of experience in electrical or controls engineering or a related field.
3. Knowledge of electrical engineering techniques, principles and procedures.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
8. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
Qualifications:
1. Experience with industrial power system design, including medium voltage (up to 69kV) and low voltage (up to 600V) distribution and motor control.
2. Experience with motor control center design and specification.
3. Experience with power system design for distributed energy resources (solar, battery storage, cogeneration, etc.)
4. Experience designing DC power systems, including photovoltaic systems and battery energy storage systems.
5. Experience performing a variety of electrical studies, including load flow analysis, AC and DC fault analysis, insulation coordination, arc flash evaluation and risk assessment, relay and protective device coordination.
6. Experience using electrical design and analysis software, such as: SKM PowerTools, ETAP, EasyPower.
7. Familiarity with electrical requirements for hazardous (classified) locations.
8. Familiarity with protective relaying philosophies and methodologies, as well as modern microprocessor-based equipment (e.g. SEL-651R recloser control relay, SEL-751 feeder protection relay, etc.)
9. Capable of coordinating efforts with controls, process, mechanical, and civil engineers to ensure cohesive project design and execution.
10. Ability to lead multiple projects, ensuring successful completion within scope, budget, and time constraints.
11. Professional Engineer license in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain reciprocity.
12. Knowledge of industry codes and standards including NEC, NESC, IEEE, IEC and NFPA.
