Human Resources Manager
Location: Northampton + UK Travel
Type: Fixed Term Contract - 12 months
Hours: 5 days per week, part time (minimum 25 hours per week) to fit around school hours or other needs, with 50/50 hybrid working after three months in the role.
ILG have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join our team. Working predominantly on-site at our Northampton locations, you will play a key role in overseeing and supporting HR initiatives, whilst working with the wider HR team to shape and implement our people strategy. Reporting to our HR Director, with responsibility for a team of two HR Advisors, you will oversee the provision of all HR practices and processes in this wide-ranging generalist role. One of your strengths will be building relationships and making an impact, and you are someone comfortable working alone or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Effectively manage and support our HR Advisors, guiding them on the management of individual ER cases, ensuring employees are supported and company policies and procedures are followed.
2. Help develop and implement HR policies and procedures that reflect consistency, fairness, and align with ILG goals and values.
3. Advise, coach, and guide managers on processes, best practice, and policies.
4. Work closely with our Recruitment team to support the recruitment of high volume operational and office-based roles. Also, support Learning & Community, Health & Safety, and Sustainability colleagues in maintaining a positive work environment that prioritises employee engagement through various wellbeing initiatives.
5. Build capability within the team through coaching and mentoring, leading by example, and knowledge sharing. Managing direct reports through support, feedback, objective setting, and progress reporting.
6. Support with relevant project work to include organisational growth and change.
Requirements:
1. Proven HR experience in a multi-site operation, ideally in the logistics and warehousing industry.
2. CIPD qualification or equivalent preferred; as a minimum, a strong understanding and practical application of UK employment law and HR best practices.
3. Excellent leadership and people management skills, someone who is people oriented and results driven, who has experience of managing a team.
4. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage employee relations issues, with exposure to or experience in talent management and recruitment.
5. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making; flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and environments.
6. Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics.
7. Ability to help create & roll out strategy, along with the competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
Terms:
Part time: Monday - Friday, 25 hours per week minimum, exact hours to be agreed
Salary: Pro rata of £55,000 per annum depending on hours agreed
