About the role:
You will be an important member of a busy clinical team which is integral to the running of our clinically-informed Trauma Treatment Programme. You will be providing one-to-one psychotherapy sessions for children aged 4 to 14 who have experienced severe and complex trauma and loss. These sessions will be carried out in our dedicated therapy rooms in Stoke on Trent and Stockport, stocked with a variety of resources to carry out play and art-based as well as relational psychotherapies.
We recognise this work is highly complex and requires a high degree of dedication and personal resources; therefore, we fund external clinical supervision for the work to all our clinicians, as well as internal support and case management.
The main responsibilities for the role will include:
* Work closely with the Head of Clinical Services to provide one-to-one, specialist support to children suffering from the impact of trauma and attachment difficulties, through a variety of creative modalities.
* Add to risk assessment and risk management plans for children to meet their emotional, behavioural, and social needs.
* Routinely measure clinical outcomes.
* Attend regular clinical supervision and team meetings.
* Occasionally attend professionals’ meetings in relation to children with whom you are working.
* Keep updated with relevant theory and research materials to support evidence-based practice.
* Provide and maintain comprehensive clinical and consultation records.
* Report clinical outcomes and data to the Head of Clinical Services.
* Coordinate and communicate service delivery with relevant stakeholders.
* Undertake continued clinical professional development and clinical supervision.
* Assist with any other ad hoc duties commensurate to this job role and pay scale, as directed by management.
The successful candidate will have the following Qualifications:
* Possess a recognised qualification in Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Psychotherapy, or Psychology.
* Possess a good standard of English and Maths.
* Must hold membership of an accredited professional body (e.g., HCPC, BACP, BAPT, BAAT, UKCP).
* UK Driving License with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
The successful candidate will have the following Experience/Key Skills:
* Extensive experience delivering psychotherapy to children, including primary school-aged children.
* Knowledge of attachment theories and the impact of developmental trauma.
* Good working knowledge of different modalities appropriate to working with children.
* Experience of delivering one-to-one, intensive psychotherapy within a statutory or other professional setting.
* Be confident, organised, and motivated with a desire to succeed and make a positive difference in a child’s life.
* Understanding of safeguarding and appropriate information sharing.
* An understanding of the diverse needs of different cultural groups.
* Have a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
* Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Be empathetic and have a good understanding of the Restorative Parenting recovery programme.
* Possess excellent communication skills.
* Demonstrate extensive experience working within a similar role with children.
* Undertake any reasonable travelling requirements to fulfil the tasks and responsibilities of the role.
* Good administration skills as well as good IT/Data inputting skills.
* Attend and participate in learning and development events, conferences, and practice meetings to maintain your knowledge for the role.

Location: The role will be based at Halliwell’s Stoke Hub (may also be required to travel to Halliwell Head Office (M30) and any others as required to meet the business needs).
