Through Business Banking (BB) our global network offers comprehensive support and services to businesses in the SME market. From expanding overseas to managing the cash and trade flows of an established enterprise, the Business Banking team of Relationship Managers and Product Specialists provides a range of end-to-end solutions designed to help small businesses reach their potential.
We are currently seeking a proactive and customer-focused individual to join this team in the role of Relationship Manager.
The Relationship Manager will provide dedicated customer service to a portfolio of clients with accountability for sales, service, risk, and operational delivery. This role will have both external and internal stakeholders, including Sales, Product Development, Risk & Compliance teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Face-to-face meetings with SME clients, managing a portfolio of 50 - 70 clients
2. Managing portfolio incomes of approximately £1.5 - £2m and SME clients with a £2-15m turnover
3. Driving revenue growth through understanding customer needs and adopting a needs-based approach that engages clients and increases new business
4. Growing the business sustainably by identifying opportunities to expand a portfolio and broadening client relationships by leveraging HSBC's extensive network
5. Building a strong understanding of the client's business and industry to promote insights, enrich client conversations, and deliver fair outcomes
6. Conducting proactive credit risk assessments and customer due diligence reviews
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
1. Experience working in relevant environments, such as Business/Corporate Banking or Financial Services
2. Proven ability to identify and meet customer needs
3. Evidence of commercial lending experience
4. Experience in leading and delivering excellent customer service and proactively seeking innovative ways to improve this service
5. Experience building effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust
6. Comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience in ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory processes
This is a hybrid role covering the London, South Essex, North Sussex, and North Kent area.
