Bumi Armada UK Limited (BAUK) currently have a permanent staff opportunity for a Marine Control Room Operator (MCRO) to join the Armada Kraken FPSO team on a 3:4:3:5 rotational pattern. Responsible for providing operational support to the installation in the Central Control Room (CCR) and in other designated areas as assigned by the Marine Supervisor. The successful candidate will have relevant offshore experience, and will have the following responsibilities:
* Responsible for Marine Control Room and watch-keeping duties.
* Responsible for the safe and cost-effective operation and maintenance of the installation’s marine systems with minimal environmental impact.
* Act as the Responsible Person/Area Authority for all operations in the Marine Department requiring a work permit and ensure that all safety precautions are taken and the work is carried out safely.
* Ensure all risks in the marine system and associated operations are identified, and procedures are established and implemented.
* Ensure knowledge of safety requirements, including work permit systems, operational and emergency procedures, Company policies and instructions; and ensure that they are understood by all marine department personnel.
* Communicate closely with the HSE Advisor on HSEQ matters.
* Provide guidance to all staff in matters pertaining to safe working practices in compliance with the installation’s Safety Management Systems (SMS).
* Participate in marine procedure reviews and updates.
* Provide support for the installation’s marine and deck operations and assist the Deck and Marine Crew as required.
* Participate in all aspects of the cargo oil offtake operations including communications, offload planning, cargo transfer, metering, mooring and unmooring co-ordination, and documentation.
* Ensure the correct and accurate completion of Marine Department data and reports, including marine logs, vessel movements, weather reports and hull tank contents, daily cargo reports, and stability record keeping.
* Ensure installation is operated in line with the Stability Manual (with respect to drafts, heel, trim and within shear force (SF) and bending moment (BM) parameters during oil loading and unloading, bulk chemicals when appropriate, fuel and fresh water, and ballasting operations.
* Advise Marine Supervisor of any anomalies found.
* Monitor and manage bilge and void spaces as required.
* Supervise supply boat and loading of fuel from the CCR.
* Liaise with the Marine Supervisor, Deck Foreman and Marine Pump Room Operator (MPRO) regarding Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) and Emergency Rescue and Recovery Vessel (ERRV) movements.
* Monitor via Automatic Identification System (AIS), and in conjunction with ERRV monitor and control potential incursions into the installation’s 500m zone.
* Monitor the mooring system inclinometer data and turret monitoring system (TMS) data, taking appropriate action as directed by the Marine Supervisor.
* Assist the Marine Supervisor in regulatory Inspection programmes.
* Complete and record all marine planned maintenance activities.
* Monitor the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) panel, including the record book and aeronautical communications.
* Monitor weather station and long-range forecasts to detect early warning of inclement weather which may impact operations.
* Monitor the motion reference unit (MRU) and report any malfunction to the Lead Instrument Technician.
* Act as the focal point for the installation positioning systems, for example Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS), Differential Absolute and Relative Positioning System (DARPS) and Artemis.
* Responsible for oil offloading operations and liaising with the Metering Technician for fiscal metering operations.
* Perform any other tasks as reasonably required.
