Estimator Chelmsford, Essex Full time, Permanent position Salary: £50,000 - £75,000 per annum - depending on experience Our welcoming Client is has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Estimator who will work within the Pre-Construction team in order to provide clear, timely and accurate project costings as well as building up client price presentations. The role involves working closely with the bid-manager, other internal team members, supply chain and communications with customers and consultants. Main responsibilities of the role include: • Management of all key clientèle documentation where relevant to the estimate.• Working closely with the relevant internal bid manager, project teams and related personnel to contribute to the successful coordination and obtaining of all information needed to produce a cost plan.• Competently review project plans, specifications, other related documents and have the ability to measure take offs and to tender multiple projects simultaneously.• Prepare full project cost calculations of materials, labour, equipment and other project expenses in line with Company templates and processes.• Ensure that all estimates are accurate and comply with client requirements.• Prepare and submit detailed price presentations and break-downs to clientèle.• Assessing and highlighting the risks and opportunities.• Manage and execute on the post tender questions and query schedule process as related to cost elements.• Continual training in terms of attendance to CPD’s, supplier visits, site visits and self-development courses.• Feed into and help maintain schedule of rates / data / benchmarks internally• Take an interest in business development, lead generation, and provide budgets to assist.• Ability to effectively manage workload on multiple responsibilities.• Accountability to project and non-project deadlines.• Active involvement in meetings.• Delivery of accurate pre-construction costings to the agreed programme and time frame, with all members involved aligned on the content.• Clear price presentation to clientèle that meet are clear and understandable and that meet their expectations• Any other duties as reasonably requested of you. Skills and Experience Minimum 2 year's experience in a similar role. Construction industry background. Degree qualified and chartered or equivalent professional qualification would be desirable. Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings. IT literate and confident in using construction estimating software (e.g. bluebeam, excel, SchuCal or Logical and so on). Strong data management and organisational skills. A good listener and a clear communicator. High attention to detail. Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
