Job Title
The Valve Technician is responsible for performing overhauls, tests and recertification on various types of valves and actuators.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform tasks in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards, and work instructions
* Overhaul and recertify relief valves, including conventional, balanced bellows, pilot-operated, and vacuum types
* Overhaul, test, and recertify isolation valves
* Overhaul, test, and recertify control valves, actuators, and ancillary equipment
* Overhaul, test, and recertify actuators
* Troubleshoot and solve issues related to valves and actuators
* Provide expertise in valve flushing and sealant injection services
* Provide expertise in using torque and tensioning equipment
* Conduct risk assessments and hazard assessments (Start Cards) for related work scopes
* Offer technical support to valve workshop teams
* Work effectively as an individual and part of a team
* Plan and coordinate project or shutdown work as required
* Conduct site surveys and create detailed reports of equipment
* Maintain workshop equipment and tooling, and keep records up-to-date
* Ensure general housekeeping within and surrounding the department
Requirements
* Background in engineering
* NVQ Level 3 in relevant technical discipline preferred

* Ability to work as part of a team within the workshop and wider business
* Able to share ideas with team members and seek advice when necessary
