Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Modern Matron (8a) to join the Learning Disability Intensive Support team. The Intensive Support team is an all age team who work with people with a learning disability and additional complex needs to prevent inappropriate admissions to hospital. The team is multi-disciplinary and works across the whole of Lancashire and South Cumbria. The modern matron will be responsible for the operational and clinical leadership of the team ensuring patient experience is a priority. You will be expected to provide leadership and clinical expertise within the IST working collaboratively with people with lived experience and registered practitioners. This is a community role and will require travel between various sites across Lancashire and South Cumbria. You must have the ability to access your own travel for this role. Main duties of the job The post holder supports the delivery of the intensive support team model providing leadership to professional and direct care staff, ensuring the availability of appropriate administrative support services in the team to release clinical time to care. The post holder will be expected to work Monday to Friday 9am-5pm with their colleagues providing leadership and clinical expertise to the team and advice to external agencies as required. The Matron will provide a visible, accessible and authoritative presence in the team, to whom service users and their families can turn for assistance, advice and support. Matrons must be clinically up to date and credible/have clinical skills expecting others to perform and passionate about driving up clinical and professional standards.
