The successful candidate will be driven and passionate about the education sector and will demonstrate their resilience whilst supporting pupils and teaching staff to contribute to the overall positive learning environment. We require teaching assistants to work in both primary and secondary schools in Pontypool. Job Title: Teaching Assistant Sector: Welsh medium Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30-15:30 Pay: Minimum £12.90 per hour Start date: ASAP Responsibilities: Adhere to the school’s safeguarding and protection policies to ensure a safe environment for all students Foster a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere that promotes student growth and development Exhibit flexibility and adaptability in response to the diverse and changing needs of pupils Assist teachers and other school staff with daily tasks and support educational activities Establish and maintain trusting relationships with students and their families, providing emotional and social support as needed Benefits of working with Teaching Personnel: You will be provided with CPD training on Safeguarding, The Prevent Duty, Understanding KCSIE (Keeping Children Safe in Education) and Acting Professionally to Safeguard Children prior to beginning work in a school Once you are cleared for work, you will be offered the opportunity to work a 5 day trial within a school to gain valuable experience and knowledge You will be offered the opportunity to attend many training courses such as Team Teach Behaviour Management, Autism Awareness and the Complete SEND Diploma Job requirements: Right to work in the UK Enhanced Child Only DBS Certificate (we can help you obtain this) To be registered with the EWC (we will help with this) Two professional references covering 24 months Level 2 Safeguarding (provided by Teaching Personnel) Whilst having professional experience working with children is desirable, we welcome applications from people who have personal experience or someone who is simply willing to fully engage and develop skills in this field.
