MRP/Procurement Controller Required ASAP in Gloucester. Immediate Start Available. Top Rates Available (Negotiable depending on previous experience).
Job Purpose:
Be the single point of contact for all our production materials in Gloucester. You will be responsible for ensuring the production facility has all the components and raw materials required to achieve our daily production. This will require you to create and maintain a master delivery schedule, work with Mfg. Stores to confirm receipt, ensure QMS inspection of all goods and services is completed, and any defects are returned for credit or replacement.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Schedule the supply of materials to meet production requirements and maintain minimum safety stock levels, assessing volume requirements against planning assumptions.
2. Day-to-day PO order management and management of deliveries.
3. Understand and manage risks to minimize impact on production schedule and take follow-up actions in relation to material shortages.
4. With the assistance of Stores management, monitor inventory levels against agreed targets, and support inventory checks to validate accuracy, minimizing the risk of obsolete and excess stock impacting the business.
5. General non-conformance management of bought-in materials, liaising with QC, the supplier, and stakeholders.
6. Assist in setting up part codes for materials.
7. On an annual basis, review standard costs against actual and prepare new cost forecasts at the beginning of the financial year.
8. Keep up to date records of savings, cost avoidance, and increases.
9. Implement processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement.
10. Comply with the requirements of the company Quality Management System and manufacturing code.
11. Perform other duties as and when required as may be reasonably expected from time to time.
Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required:
1. Previous experience of material purchasing.
2. Knowledge and experience of using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems or similar, preferred.
3. Good knowledge of Excel.
4. Experience using SAP, preferred.
5. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills.
6. Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts the costs, production, manufacture, and order fulfillment.
7. Excellent attention to detail.
8. Good understanding of supply chain processes and their interdependencies.
9. Understanding of supplier relationships and some experience of working with suppliers.
10. Able to demonstrate excellent organizational skills and multi-task.
11. Able to plan and manage own time effectively without continual need for direction.
12. Work well under pressure and to deadlines.
