Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Planning Lead to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimising the planning processes within our supply chain operations. The Planning Lead will collaborate closely with various departments to ensure seamless execution of strategies that enhance efficiency and productivity.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the Planning function is delivered smoothly and efficiently by co-ordinating the activities of the Planning Team.
* Develop and implement production planning work flow processes
* Collaborate with sales, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing departments
* Lead and mentor a small planning team to consistently achieve high performance targets
* Create schedules for short, medium, and long-term planning
* Analyse and report on late deliveries, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
* Utilise ERP and MRP systems for efficient task processing
* Experience with capacity planning and stock management policies
* Support the monitoring of the manufacturing status to ensure that delivery promises are met by maintaining, updating and monitoring the Production plan through-out the day.
* Identification of delays and the subsequent adjustment and communication to key stake holders (CST) of planned activities to ensure that those delays are kept to a minimum, by being the first point of contact for CST/Commercial regarding improvements or queries and responding promptly to e-mails or calls seeking advice where an appropriate solution cannot immediately be found.
* Chair the daily inter-departmental meetings to confirm that advised production schedules are to plan and identify, minute meeting and distribute those to the key stakeholders concerned.
* Raising of assemblies and routes for new products.
* Ability to act quickly and decisively with an appreciation of the wider impacts of decision making.
* Monitor and report manufacturing performance against pre-determined business performance KPI’s and proactively support and enhance the implementation of the production plan.
* Previous experience in planning and master scheduling within an engineering and manufacturing environment
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop a team
* Pro-actively support Planning Management in continuous improvement programmes.
* Assist and support others to develop a new, competent culture.
* Responsible for ensuring that tight schedules and targets are achieved.
