Job Description
Are you experienced in sales and construction estimating and have exceptional communication, math, and critical thinking skills? If so, we’d like to talk. We’re looking to hire a skilled sales and estimation professional to assist our busy team. You will be responsible for full-cycle sales, from procuring and maintaining clients to providing an in-depth analysis of needs, creating and submitting estimates, obtaining the order, and following through. Compensation:
75,000 - 87,500 yearly
Responsibilities:
* Meet and exceed monthly sales budget objectives by retaining and expanding a qualified client base.
* Generate new business in assigned territories through various marketing practices, including cold calling, direct mail, email blasts, referrals, advertising, trade shows, entertainment, and other miscellaneous promotional activities.
* Identify and establish each customer's needs and utilize selling techniques to demonstrate the value of Galbraith Commercial & Industrial Construction and the work we provide.
* Represent the company at trade association meetings to promote Galbraith Commercial & Industrial Construction and increase our presence in the community by developing relationships through all other applicable associations and groups.
* Negotiate pricing and contract terms within the context of company policy.
* Take and submit orders for services.
* Develop expertise in concepts and knowledge of estimating all types of projects.
* Prepare estimates used for several purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost-effectiveness.
* Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
* Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to assist in the preparation of time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for all phases of the project.
* Consult with and respond to inquiries from customers and subcontractors regarding areas of expertise.
* Respond to customers' concerns in an appropriate and timely manner.
* Oversee, monitor, and audit assigned job sites for quality control through on-site visits to review and get feedback from Superintendents, Managers, and customers.
* Confer with Superintendents and Management as needed to clarify the information required for contract plan review.
* Participate in training assigned sales staff.
* Participate actively in professional and trade organizations and provide input to industry councils, as appropriate. Arrange to have sessions presented by staff, vendors, or others as appropriate.
* Develop, submit, implement, manage, and report on sales goals and business development plans in accordance with company policies and systems.
* Represent the company to customers within an assigned geographic area.
* Maintain product knowledge of existing and new product services.
* Gather and forward information on competitor activities.
* Assist in collections from delinquent accounts.
* Maintain close, positive working relationships with field and administrative departments.
Qualifications:
* Knowledgeable in and proven abilities with estimating in a commercial, industrial, concrete, and steel construction type environment viewed as a plus.
* Three (3) years of sales experience (construction environment or the facilities/operations market is a plus).
* Must demonstrate competency in interpreting and applying complex estimating guidelines.
* Excellent math and geometry skills.
* Excellent planning and organizational skills are a must.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires a high level of multi-tasking with minimal supervision.
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
* Effective use of technology is required.
* Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
