An overview of the role:
Capgemini Invent Energy Transition and Utilities is the largest sector in our private portfolio, with a dominant brand position across all our five subsectors (Nuclear, Water, Networks, Energy Retail and Energy Transition). You will work on high profile, impactful projects which will help our clients deliver scalable energy infrastructure to help the UK transition to a low carbon, sustainable future.
As part of our ongoing growth, we are seeking an experienced senior leader who can bring experience from capital projects and/or asset intensive industry, a strong business improvement skillset, and an understanding of how the digitisation of core capital project delivery processes can reduce the total cost of ownership for mega projects and deliver on shareholder commitments. You will work in a diverse team of engineers, creative designers, business consultants, industry experts, information, and technology specialists to help lead and grow a market leading business.
The work:
No matter the project or customer, your work will have a meaningful impact on society, businesses and lives. It’s really rewarding. And it’s also really varied. You’ll potentially work on a huge variety of projects (some larger than others), so you could gain lots of experience in a short amount of time.
Why this role?
The energy sector is going through the biggest change in a generation to support the needs of a low carbon future. Organisations across the UK are investing millions in Opex and Capex improvements and operational digital transformation to deliver these commitments. Given the scale of investment and short time to deliver these capital improvements there is a very strong focus from regulators, investors, and the companies alike to increase confidence and speed to deliver these programmes to time cost and quality, safely.
As a result, we are seeing a significant increase in demand for our teams who are already working with major utilities organisations. We have built a successful track record of identifying, solutioning and then delivering leading edge enterprise-wide digital transformations which is adopted and embedded into our clients and we are looking to further strengthen our teams. Capgemini brings to bear vast energy and utilities experience, a strong business improvement skillset, business change capability, an understanding of technology and a highly collaborative approach.
As an Information Management Consultant in the business you’ll help set the direction, driving forward the business, model our values and behaviours, and coach and develop junior members of the team. We are looking for people who can be the critical friend and trusted partner, helping our clients understand and tackle the issues they face, defining the overall solutions to unlock value whilst steering them on the journey of transformation. The solutions align the strategic objectives with visible outcomes expected by shareholders. We bring this to life through the setup of the future organisation, new ways of working enabled by emerging technology and data.
You will help our clients develop their Information Management strategy and practices by implementing effective policies, standards, methods, procedures, contractual instruments, project delivery organisation, systems of use, etc. You will help our clients drive organisational change to embed data-centric ways of working to better specify, capture, manage, control and exploit their information. You will form part of an experienced and flexible project delivery team who have real life industry transformation experience, helping clients to realise benefits and transform processes, operations and behaviours which will drive improved project execution and operational performance of the capital project and operations of the asset to come.

2. Proactive lead generation and sales contribution.
3. Senior client stakeholder management.
4. Programme and project delivery management of large multi-disciplinary teams.

6. Definition of client strategy, delivery roadmap and investment case. You will help develop business cases for the deployment of digital engineering solutions and support clients in making value-based capability decisions.
7. Definition of future business and organisation models whilst developing an integrated view of people, technology and information impacts.
8. Define project scope and objectives, facilitate workshops to define and prioritise requirements, agree outcomes and programme risks.
9. Create and support the development of workstream or project delivery plans.
10. Coach, develop, and performance manage team members as part of project delivery.
