This is a fantastic opportunity for a Technical Manager to take the next step in their career. You will be responsible for being the technical lead for food safety and legal compliance, which will entail leading the technical department, driving quality standards, and liaising with low risk and high care departments.
This role would suit a Technical Manager with experience of leading a team and working within Food production/FMCG, looking for an excellent long-term career opportunity with scope to develop.
What you will be doing:
* Drive the food safety and quality agenda throughout the organisation
* Ensure the site always maintains a BRC standard
* Arrange regular HACCP team meetings and ensure that the HACCP plan is reviewed and amended for new products, ingredients, and processes
* To ensure that all CCPs are understood, verified, and supporting documentation is audited
* Manage and review HACCP prerequisites
* Manage an integrated Pest Control policy in conjunction with the company external provider
* Ensure that standard operating and cleaning procedures are correct and regularly reviewed
* Coach, mentor and develop the existing technical and quality team through regular development plans and performance reviews
* Support document control systems by drafting required documents
* Ensure the management team are kept informed of scientific developments, industry codes of practise, new risk to authenticity of raw materials and all relevant legislation
* Ensure certificates of analysis are received for all relevant products and non-conformances reported
* Conduct regular audits of the manufacturing process to ensure that product quality and consistency is maintained
About You
* Must have exposure to both factory and customer facing technical management
* Relevant qualifications are essential, including Lead Auditor training, HACCP, and Food Safety L4
* An understanding of microbiology within the high risk sector is preferred but not essential
* Must have previously led internal and external audits
* Previous experience of setting a site technical strategy and agenda
* Must have experience in people management
