TeachSport are passionate about delivering high quality after school care in primary schools. We also work in schools delivering high quality PE, school sport and physical activity services, as well as active holiday camps.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic Playworker to deliver the after school club in a lovely small primary school. The successful candidate will be reliable, support and lead the delivery of the day to day running of the after school club and provide high-quality, safe and stimulating care for the children attending with another team member.
The Position:
The Playworker will be responsible for preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment. Structured, active and engaging activities will be planned, supervised and led. You will ensure that safeguarding, hygiene, health and safety standards are met and provide support to the children in the after school club.
Duties:
1. Supervise and engage children in play activities
2. Create a safe and inclusive environment for children to play
3. Plan and organize age-appropriate games, crafts, and activities
4. Assist with snack time and ensure children's dietary needs are met
5. Monitor and ensure the well-being of all children in the play area
6. Communicate with parents or guardians regarding their child's participation and behaviour
7. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the play area
Qualifications:
1. Previous experience working with children in a similar role is preferred
2. Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities
3. Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
4. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate well is needed
5. Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with children
6. First Aid certification is a plus
