The Project Engineer is responsible for performing diverse capital project engineering analysis, managing capital engineering projects, and implementing capital-related process changes for Rich UK. This includes capex related machine capability evaluations, modifications of equipment, and developing solutions to production issues relating to materials, processes, and procedures to maximize efficiency and yields.
Responsibilities:
1. Manages multiple engineering projects from inception through completion. Initiates concepts, develops designs, estimates costs, formulates justifications, coordinates installations, troubleshoots start-ups, and training requirements on new equipment.
2. Weekly and monthly status reporting on project progress and financial cashflow.
3. Prepares engineering computations, estimates, surveys, statistics, and analysis.
4. Coordinates drawing files, CAD file management, process documentation, and technical literature.
5. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of capital project governance procedures and follows Rich directives and guidelines.
6. Gathers (SOPs) for the operation of new equipment or changes to current equipment.
7. Participates in project team meetings and project-related activities as the plant project engineering resource.
8. Installs or modifies equipment following EH&S and FSQA statutory and BRC policy requirements.
9. Represents the company's position and interest effectively in dealing with outside contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants.
10. Ensures Rich’s site safety, environmental, and GMP standards are designed to, met, and maintained.
11. Assists in follow-up of construction activities with outside vendors.
12. Leads project delivery from definition, approval to start-up/completion, including equipment/facilities implementation following Rich project execution governance and business requirements.
13. Communicates effectively and informs operational leaders and key stakeholders of related work through scheduling, plant, and team meetings.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of reports and summaries as required (timely monthly reports).
2. Supports with assessment of breakdown troubleshooting to identify future Capital needs.
3. Assists in follow-up of prototype construction with outside vendors.
4. Secures quotations working with Procurement and expedites materials and delivery as necessary.
5. Participates in the development of Capital policies and procedures related to engineering, safety, and Project delivery.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Critical:
* Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline or NVQ Level 7 qualification.
* Project management and supplier experience.
* Experience of Autocad (Technical drawings).
* Experience of working with contractors.
* Experience of operating and influencing at a senior level.
* Knowledge and technical understanding of production processes equipment.
* First class communication skills both verbal and written.
* Clearly evidenced use of CI and Lean principles to implement improvements.
* Proven experience of effective and proactive engineering maintenance management.
* IOSH.
* Maintenance management systems.
* Stocks and Spares management.
* Budget management.
* FMCG Experience.
Desirable:
* Food manufacturing experience.
* HACCP.
* Experience of SAP/D365.
* Knowledge and application of TPM.
* Maintenance management systems CMMS.
* Experience of Effluent plant operation and maintenance.
* Water Treatment and Legionella controls.
* Experience of ammonia refrigeration systems.
