Following a number of recent wins, and an excellent pipeline of work, we are currently seeking to expand our Highways team within our Transportation Practice and are seeking a Principal Engineer to lead teams and projects for a range of existing clients.
The successful candidates will join an exciting and expanding team in Wales & West working on a number of exciting, high-profile multi-disciplinary projects and frameworks. This includes the A417 Missing link, A303 Stonehenge and A303 Sparkford to Ilchester Design and technical assurance, Lower Thames crossing, NH SPaTS framework. You would also be working alongside a number of local authorities throughout the region on the SWMWRCES, SEWTAPS, WECA, Gloucestershire County Council, Supply the South West and Place & Movement Frameworks.

The role would be based in our Bristol office but there may be a requirement for some travel to other AtkinsRéalis locations to ensure you can deliver value for our clients.

Role Requirements:
The role will be varied, requiring a balance of relevant industry experience, technical ability, communication, and stakeholder management skills. We are looking for people whose experience may include:
* Experience of leading projects with our key clients such as Local Authorities, National Highways, Network Rail, Welsh Government, Developers and/or major Contractors.
* Detailed knowledge of relevant design standards (e.g., DMRB, MCHW, DfT Manual for Streets, LTNs, Active Travel Design Guidance and those of Welsh Government and National Highways).
* Ability to deliver work to agreed scopes and budgets, to deliver design packages within set time frames.
* Ability to prepare reports and specifications – for projects and tenders.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a wide range of colleagues across a number of disciplines.
* Experience in leading teams across a range of projects.
* Supporting teams' professional development.
Additionally, you will meet the following criteria:
* BEng, MEng or MSc in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
* Professional qualification (IEng/CEng) with an appropriate institution (such as the ICE, CIHT, or equivalent).
* Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate between a mix of clients, design teams, and contractors.
