Job Description:
The Role
In this role, you'll be at the heart of Kingston School of Art's dynamic learning environment, operating and maintaining advanced fabrication equipment, including laser cutters, plotter cutters, and 3D printers. You'll work closely with students, guiding them in selecting the best materials and processes to bring their ideas to life, while ensuring safety and quality in every project. Working with our hackSpace and Digital Media Workshop teams, you’ll help foster a vibrant culture that supports ambitious ideas and pushes creative boundaries. This position aligns with Kingston University's Town House Strategy, emphasising future skills development and a progressive educational model that combines technical expertise with in-demand professional attributes.
The Person
We’re seeking a skilled, tech-savvy professional who’s not only experienced with 2D and 3D design but also enthusiastic about expanding their understanding of material processes. You should have hands-on expertise with equipment like 3D printers, laser cutters, and plotter cutters, and be eager to share your knowledge and guide students on their creative journeys. We’re looking for someone who values safe and efficient practices and is excited to foster a culture of exploration and innovation within the Kingston School of Art.
