Principal Systems Engineer
12 Months Contract

Our client, a large aerospace company, is looking for an experienced Principal Systems Engineer to join them at their site based in Luton. This role will focus on the development and upgrade of Combat Air Sector products. The role entails applying knowledge and experience in systems engineering to support the specification, design, development, integration, and testing of these systems.
Typical work you might be involved in:
1. Work alongside internal stakeholders to understand user needs and requirements with which to define and influence system requirements and designs, ensuring traceability for design compliance and acceptance.
2. Develop and run test strategies to demonstrate design and implementation compliance, ensuring end-to-end traceability to achieve certification.
3. Support system integration, verification, and validation activities to test and analyse performance and effectiveness.
4. Develop and deliver engineering specifications, reports, and presentations.
What we need from you:
1. A solid foundation in a relevant technical domain exploited in an EW systems context/application.
2. High proficiency in requirements management using IBM DOORS.
3. Experience of authoring detailed design artifacts in support of requirements specifications.
4. Good understanding of design compliance and acceptance criteria relating to requirements and architecture progressive verification and validation at varying stages of maturity.
5. Strong understanding of systems engineering principles across the development lifecycle.
6. Previous experience of technical leadership of complex products.
7. Ability to perform effective interface control management, both in terms of application and derivation, at a sub-system, system, and system-of-system levels including the interface control documents.
8. Ability to obtain SC Clearance for UK-caveated programmes.
