Overview:
The Kia Oval is an international cricket ground in Kennington, in the London Borough of Lambeth, South London. The Oval has been the home ground of Surrey County Cricket Club since it was opened in 1845.
Key Responsibilities:
Role Purpose:
* Reporting to the Head of Catering Operations whilst working closely with various internal and external stakeholders including the Concessions Manager.
Retail Management:
* Oversee the delivery of all match-day operations in all retail catering areas.
* Work with internal culinary team to deliver a premium retail food operation and offering.
* Work with the Beverage Operations team to ensure we plan and deliver an appropriate beverage offering for each of our demographics.
* Ensure all match day paperwork is appropriate and covers all necessary legislation.
* Forecast all retail matchday labour planners and manage a consistent and appropriately trained variable workforce.
* Plan out the layout of the concourse for each matchday.
* Work with commercial partners to deliver brand activations and experiences for customers.
* Ensure we are operating in accordance with our Net Zero goals.
Food and Beverage Partner Management:
* Deliver an appropriate concession offering for our attendance demographics.
* Plan appropriate matchday locations for partners.
* Ensure the Concessions Manager is carrying out Food audits on all traders each matchday.
Finance:
* Demonstrate strong understanding of financial reports and P&Ls.
* Accountability for all retail related fixed operating costs.
* Manage matchday retail labour planners and ensure alignment to budget.
* Provide analysis of data to support decisions and opportunities.
Health & Safety:
* Maintain H&S compliance and lead a health & safety culture.
* Ensure compliance with all allergy procedures and safety regulations.
People:
* Ensure team members are enabled to develop and grow in their role.
* Build and develop a consistent and effective retail management team.
Person Spec:
* Minimum 5 years in retail management experience in a large scale or sports venue.
* Strong operational experience with a passion for F&B.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Able to influence and operate at all stakeholder levels (desirable).
