Our client is a multi-disciplinary practice who require a Structural Engineer to join them based from their office in Reigate. This is an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer with experience of using CAD to work on a variety of projects, which will include reinstatement of properties following fires and floods. The role itself is quite varied.
The Structural Engineer will be re-designing structures to withstand stresses and pressures, in order to allow the structure to remain stable and secure throughout use. You will be examining existing buildings and structures to test if they are fit for purpose.
The successful Structural Engineer's role will involve looking at structurally unstable buildings and surveying structures or buildings to produce technical drawings. The Structural Engineer will be providing solutions for reinstatement works and emergency improvement.
Structural Engineer Position Overview
1. Working predominantly on reinstatement projects
2. Structural surveys
3. Make drawings, specifications and computer models of structures for building contractors
4. Use CAD for stimulation purposes
5. Liaise with designers, including architects to agree on safe designs
6. Consider the strength of various materials
7. Examining existing buildings and structures to test if they are fit for purpose
Structural Engineer Position Requirements
1. Degree within a Structural Engineering Discipline
2. Willing to travel across the South of England and spend one night away every fortnight
3. Previous undertaking Surveys is advantageous
4. Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD
5. Full UK Driving License
6. Excellent communication skills and people skills
Structural Engineer Position Remuneration
Salary £30k - £55k (DOE - Potentially more for the right candidate)
