FTE £24,027 - £24,404 per annum, Pro-rata £9,022 - £9,329 per annum
Hours:
15 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 7:00 to 10:00
The Primary School and Nursery are members of the Education Trust, an expanding multi-academy trust with 13 primary and 9 secondary schools.
The Role
They are seeking a hard-working and enthusiastic individual with high standards and effective communication skills to serve as a daily caretaker at their schools.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a key holder and handle minor security/safety issues, including contractor access during school holidays.
* Prepare the school site, premises, rooms, and work areas, including operating the heating and lighting systems.
* Conduct monthly Legionella testing (training provided).
* Perform weekly flushing testing.
* Inspect and record monthly play equipment condition.
* Test fire alarms weekly at both sites.
* Perform porterage duties, such as laying out furniture and equipment for activities without direct instruction.
* Undertake basic DIY tasks to a competent handyman level.
* Report major repair items to the Office Manager.
* Interact helpfully and sensitively with staff, parents, pupils, and visitors.
* Meet, brief, and oversee contractors and deliveries during school holidays.
* Maintain knowledge of health and safety policies, COSHH regulations, and keep relevant records.
* Willing to undertake relevant training.
* Collaborate with the Headteacher and Office Manager to attend meetings and prepare maintenance schedules as needed.

Qualifications and experience required:
* Good literacy and numeracy skills.
* Experience in construction or maintenance work.
