The successful candidate will:
Teach a Reception/early years class of pupils with Autism, delivering engaging, play-based lessons.
Create a safe, supportive, and structured environment that fosters communication, regulation, and early learning.
Plan, deliver and assess personalised learning in line with pupils' EHCPs.
Collaborate with specialist staff including SALTs, OTs and SEND support assistants.
Implement a creative curriculum, incorporating music, sensory play, art and movement.
Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and carers.
Play a key role in the wider SEND team, with the potential to move into leadership roles in the near future.Person Specification
We are seeking a teacher who:
Holds QTS and has experience teaching in an EYFS or SEND setting.
Has strong knowledge of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and experience supporting children with complex needs.
Uses a creative and adaptive approach to teaching and learning.
Has excellent behaviour management and classroom organisation skills.
Is a team player, willing to collaborate and contribute to whole-school life.
Communicates confidently with parents, carers, and outside professionals.
